Travel and Accommodation
Please take a look at our separate pages on travel and accommodation for advice.
The take-home messages are:
Please pre-book a taxi for the evening if you are not travelling by car
There is a lot of parking space available at Eggbeer Farm and cars can be left here overnight.
Accommodation at Higher Eggbeer is available for hire, please contact Hugo and Sarah for more details
You could take a train down from London to Exeter on the morning of the wedding, and back home afterwards, if you wanted!
Dress
Please wear what would make you feel your most glamorous and sexy! There’s no dress code or rules and none of us will be wearing traditional wedding dress - Hugo will be in a pink suit, and Sarah in a light green dress.
As we will be getting married on a farm in February we encourage everyone to bring lots of layers! There may be brief moments when we will need to go outside while barns are being rearranged, but inside the barn there is heating and a fire.
Facilities and Accessibilty
Toilet access
There are two cubicle toilets (and a separate cubicle urinal) in the Banquet Barn.
Young children
We will make an area in the on-site accommodation available for any baby-changing, feeding or other needs. This will allow privacy and a space in case the baby and parents want time away from crowds.
Reduced mobility
The two toilets in the Banquet Barn can be used by ambulatory wheelchair users but may need to navigate a step to get there.
There are steps in all the barns. The Banquet Barn has single, shallow steps at the entrance and between the main space and the bar area. The Chapel Barn has four steps leading from the entrance to the main area, with no hand rails. The Chapel Barn has a barn door that can be opened to allow easier access if required.
Gifts
The most important thing to us is that you are able to celebrate with us on our wedding day. However, if you wish to give a gift, we will gratefully accept a small contribution towards our honeymoon or settling into our new home.
Your coming to our wedding is a gift
Greater than rubies, or some shop-bought thing.
Which brings us onto ‘presents’: tricky stuff.
We won’t send out a Harrods’ Wedding List
But if you had a little cash to spare,
That’s what we’d like please, to help make our home.
Whatever comes our way will touch our hearts,
And seeing your dear faces when we say our vows.
If you would like to do this, we’ve set up an online ‘pot’ which can be found here: Collection Pot
Thank you for visiting our website!
We cannot wait to share this special day with you, and have all our loved ones under one roof for the first time in FOREVER!
In the meantime, if you have any questions you can contact us both at HugoAndSarah2023@gmail.com
